GMHF staff excitedly joined government officials, organization personnel and business leaders to celebrate the grand opening of Park Place in Bemidji on October 27, 2017.
The building is managed by the Duluth-based Center City Housing Corp. and is located at 598 Third St. NW. The project cost approximately $7 million to build. The complex has 20 employees, including a registered nurse from Sanford Health and a case manager from Sanford Behavioral Health. Rick Klun, Executive Director of Center City Housing Corp stated Friday, “Our staff has the right mindset and a boatload of compassion.”
Warren Hanson, President and CEO of Greater Minnesota Housing Fund/Minnesota Equity Fund expressed during his speech “Park Place is a gamechanger that saves and changes lives. How incredibly fortunate Minnesota is to have Center City working across the state on creating supportive housing, the hardest housing to put together. Congratulations to the whole community that has come together to make this happen.”
